AIKENHEAD, Larry James
September 30, 1942 – October 5, 2014
Larry Aikenhead passed away October 5, 2014, three years after being diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Larry was a soft spoken gentle soul who loved politics, books, Red Dwarf, bridges, airplanes and useless trivia but most of all, he loved Judy, his wife and best friend of 38 years. Whether he was enjoying a single malt scotch or immersed in the latest Stephen King novel, Larry never saw a reason to be in a hurry. He savoured life and approached it with curiosity, appreciation and acceptance. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. They will remember him especially for his dry sense of humour, quick wit and his legendary breadth of knowledge. Larry was the original Google. Judy and Larry have been so thankful for all those who journeyed alongside them for the past three years. Your love and kindness will never be forgotten. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 15, at 2:00 p.m. at McInnis & Holloway, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary (403-256-9575). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 47 Squire Bakers Lane, Markham, Ontario L3P 3G8. – See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/calgaryherald/obituary.aspx?n=Larry-AIKENHEAD&pid=172771563#sthash.6i3WltDM.dpuf
