There are no words to express the sadness of the loss of Phyllis A. Mitchell at Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital on August 4, 2017 in her 93rd year. Phyllis was an amazing mom, sister, bridge player and watercolour artist who touched many lives. She will be lovingly missed by her eldest son Glenn Mitchell, devoted daughter Sharon Harper, youngest daughter Colleen and daughters-in-law Karen Neil and Dianne Mitchell, her siblings Dorothy Botham, Muriel Golden and Gwennyth Westra and husband Will. She cherished her grandchildren Byron Mitchell and wife Christine, Lindsay Hanley, Samantha Hanley and great grandchildren Mercedes Mitchell, Joey Mitchell and Haley Mitchell. She is predeceased by her son John Mitchell, her parents Frank and Ada Allen, her sister Pat Jones, her grandson Allen Mitchel, her husband Harold S. Mitchell and her dear friend Byron Wagdin. She leaves a large extended family of nieces and nephews, her cat Peaches, as well as many caring friends who will miss her quiet strength. Visitation will be held at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Kingston Rd., Ajax from 10-11am followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 11am. A reception will follow in the McEachnie Family Centre.
