Passed peacefully in his sleep with family by his side, on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife, Linda, the love of his life for 52 years; his daughter Jan (Blake) Evernden and grandchildren Brandi (who passed away in 2005), Riley, Pierce and Will; son Mike (Colleen) Wright and granddaughter Jamie (Giuliano), great granddaughter Jordana, grandson Cole (Sara); daughter Penneye (Jeff) Robinson and grandchildren Matt, Zach and Jennifer; son Steven (Sarmitha) Wright;
Richard will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends. He was very proud of his 32 years of service at the Toronto Star. He very much enjoyed his retirement by travelling in his motorhome around the lower states, especially once they found their home-away-from-home in Donna, Texas.
