William (Bill) Dunnell à of Trowbridge passed away unexpectedly at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday October 19, 2015 at the age of 71. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Listowel Br. 259 and the Army and Navy St. Mary’s Br. 265. He was a former player and Alumni of the St. Marys Lincolns hockey club. Wearing No. 3 he played defense for New Jersey in the American Hockey League. Bill was a player with the Listowel Oldtimers Hockey team, an avid golfer and former member of the Listowel Golf and Country Club.
Beloved husband of Judy (Hamilton) Dunnell. Loving father of Andrea and James Haines of Ottawa and Melissa and Paul Bartman of Listowel. Special grandpa of Madelyn, Ben, Hanly and Peyton. Step-father of Jeff Mathers and his son Charlie, Brad Mathers and Pam and their son Lane. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Doug and Chris Dunnell, Sandra and Keith Denemy, Anne and Emille Cliché, Karen and Lyn Forman and Leonard Cuylle. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, Doris Dunnell and the Hamilton family.
Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Kathleen (Leslie) Dunnell, his daughter Michelle in infancy and his sister Kathy Cuylle.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Parkview Gardens, 575 Elizabeth Street East, Listowel on Saturday October 31, 2015 from 2-4 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
