Doris May Short – Life long resident of Belleville, passed away at Hastings Manor on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Albert Glenn Short, a WWII veteran who predeceased her on March 18th, 2016. Dear mother of Susan Leclaire, of Shannonville; Leonora (Larry) Dean, of Cumberland, Mark (Brenda), of Roslin; Kirby (Anita), of Mississauga; Jennifer (Brian) Decoste, and Barry (Valery), both of Belleville; Brent (Susan) of Whitby; Monica Lapierre (James Mcgill) of Renfrew; and Oriol (Sean) Rhodes, of Burlington. Doris was also loved by 23 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandson. She is survived by her brother, Bill Brohm. Mrs. Short was predeceased by her parents, Angus Brohm and Ruby (Nana) Fobert (nee Magee), her step father, Mike Fobert, by three brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Sunday, June 4th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 399 Victoria Ave., Belleville on Monday, June 5th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow, with inurnment at St. James Cemetery at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
