It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a loving father and grandfather, on Thursday May 21, 2015 at the age of 67. Cherished and loving husband of the late Heather “Bonnie” (nee Shippee) (April, 2012). He will be dearly missed by his children Jennifer (Hayo), and Elizabeth (Chris), and by his grandchildren Chloe, Brendan, Ryan, and Nate. Survived by his dear sister Gloria Robitaille (Bruce) and his mother-in-law Sylvia (Peggy) Shippee. Doug lived his life with great joy and love for his family and friends. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm, where a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1pm. Private cremation at a later date. Private Interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens Cemetery to take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
