GOOCH, Violet (nee Matthews)
Passed away suddenly at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday July 18,
2015, with family by her side at the age of 86. She is reunited with her
late husband Frederick Gooch. Loving mother to her children Edward Gooch
(Elizabeth Gooch), Grace Roblin (Douglas Maffin), Judy Divell (Douglas
Divell), Larry Gooch (Kristen Porritt) and step-daughter Shirley Racine
(Paul Racine). Beloved grandmother and life-long listener to her
grandchildren: Steven (Kasey), Monique, Graham (Rachelle), Michelle, Hailey,
Garrett, Alixandria, Connor and Kieran. Proud great grandmother to Hunter,
Jack, Lily and Charlie. Survived by her dear sisters Ruby Sheach and Edith
Marshall (Gord Marshall), and her brother Bev Matthews (Doreen Matthews).
Predeceased by her cherished siblings Art Matthews, Mary McCarthy, Bob
Matthews, Don Matthews and George Matthews. Violet was a beacon of light,
love and laughter whose lessons in kindness will be remembered and carried
through family, friends and anyone she touched. She could always be depended
on for an ear to listen, or a story to tell. Her infectious laughter will
forever be remembered by her family and friends. Words will never do justice
of the kind woman she was, and she will be missed terribly by us all.
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St N., Cambridge where the family
will receive friends on Thursday July 23, 2015 from 2 – 4 pm & 7 – 9 pm.
Funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel on Friday July 24, 2015
at 11 am. Interment to be held at Maplewood Cemetery on Friday at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers,
donations made to Trinity Anglican Church would be appreciated by the
family.
