In his 89th year passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital in Ottawa. A member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Sonny served with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery for 27 years. Sonny was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 50 years and was a member of the Branch #436, Deep River. Beloved husband of the late Mary Kelly George, father to Deborah Carroll (Douglas) of West Kelowna, BC, Lorin George of Calgary, AB, Herbert George (Shelley) of Airdrie, AB, and Douglas George of Courtice, ON. Also survived by grandchildren Michael and Brandy George. Dearest brother of Nancy Butler of St. John, NB and Marion Fillmore of Musquash, NB. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pre-deaceased by son Donald George, brothers John and Lorin George of Georgetown, PEI. Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 10am to 10:50am. A Memorial Service will be conducted in the chapel at 11am. The cremated remains will be interned at the Beachwood Cemetery, Ottawa. In Memoriam donations may be sent to Kidney Foundation of Canada.
