Peacefully at Beattie Haven Retirement Home, Wardsville on Thursday, March 12, 2015, Dorothy Elizabeth (Dolly) (Abel) Babcock of Glencoe passed away in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her husband Lyle in 1998. Survived by one brother Albert of Calgary as well several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Elizabeth Abel, and brothers Robert, Edward and Tom. Dolly was a Veteran of WWII, long time employee of Tender Tootsies in Glencoe and a Charter member and Life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 219, Royal Canadian Legion Glencoe as well a member of Branch 219 and a parishioner of St. John’s Anglican Church, Glencoe. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe. Reg. Lovell Branch 219, RCL will conduct a combined Legion Service at the funeral home on Sunday at 4 p.m. Funeral Service Monday, March 16 at 1:30 p.m. from the funeral home Rev. Bonnie Rayner officiating. Interment to follow at the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Four Counties Health Services Foundation.www.vanheckfuneralhome.ca
