It is with utmost sorrow that we announce the passing of Gaetano, peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the age of eighty-eight. Survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Annunziata Cianferro (nee Monaco). Proud and loving father of Dan and Christine Cianferro and Dan and Mara Pericak. Adoring Nonno of Alexa, Emily, Eric and Maya. Predeceased by his parents Domenico and Vitantonia Cianferri and his in-laws Giuseppe and Maria Monaco. Gaetano was also predeceased by his brothers Crescenzo and Ferdinando. He was the brother-in-law of Gaetano and Anna Monaco, Giuseppe and the late Crescenza Suffoletta and Silvana Cianferri. Gaetano had many nephews, nieces and cousins in Canada, the United States and Italy. Gaetano will always be cherished and remembered for being an avid gardener, his love for completing word searches and his sweet tooth. The wonderful memories he leaves behind will never die, for nothing loved is ever lost and he was immensely loved. The family wishes to thank the many relatives, friends, Personal Care Providers at CBI, especially Wilna that helped him during his time of need. As well, a very sincere thank you for the care and compassion shown during Gaetano’s final moments to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Juravinski Hospital. Resting at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton Street East, on Sunday and Monday from 4 à 8 p.m. with Vigil prayers on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. If desired, a donation to St. Anthony of Padua Church would be kindly appreciated by the family.
