It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Fatima surrounded by her loving family at Juravinski Hospital on April 15, 2015 at the age of 68. Beloved wife of Fernando for over 50 years of marriage. Adoring mother of her four children Lucia (the late Tony Serradeiro) and Joe Teixeira, Anita (Albert) Costa, Jorge (Andrea) and Louis (Lisa). Cherished Vovo of her 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jason and Steven, Andrew and Michael, Bella, Angelo and Lucy, Kyle and Alyssa. Predeceased by her parents Manuel and Irlinda Nicolau. Fondly remembered by her 4 siblings in Portugal and France and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Fatima was a long time, devoted member of St. Mary’s Choir and the Legion of Mary. A special thank you to Dr. Hotte, the staff at Juravinski Hospital and the CCAC for their care and compassion.Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9pm. Vigil Prayers on Friday at 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s Church on Saturday April 18, 2015 at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Burlington. Donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the CCAC would be greatly appreciated by the family.
