Hugh Alan Munro, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at London Health Sciences- University, London on Sunday, April 30, 2017. He was 80.

Born in Paisley on March 2, 1937 to the late Hugh J. and Jean (nee Clarke) Munro. Better known as Alan to his family and friends, he was a kind soul that loved the outdoors. He became quite crafty and was self employed as a carpenter.

Survived by loving wife and best friend of Lois (nee Alexander) Munro of Hanover. Loved father of Jim Munro of Hanover, Wendy (Peter) Reed of Owen Sound and Mary (Keith) Henderson of Barrie. Special grandfather of Christopher, Jessica, Amanda, Ryan, Melissa, Alexander, Matthew and nine great grandchildren. Alan will be fondly remembered by his siblings Adele (Ivan) Schmidt of Hanover, Bill (Gen) Munro of Orillia, Wayne (Sandra) Munro and Ross (Wilma) Munro both of Hanover. Predeceased by his parents and grandson Joshua.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 9:30-10:30am where a Memorial Celebration Service will be held on at 10:30 am. Cremation with Inurnment in Hanover Columbarium.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
