Francis Gross, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, March 14, 2014, in his 86th year.

Francis was born on September 11, 1928 to Frank and Olive (nee Young) Gross. Francis was the proud owner and operator of Gross Plumbing, Heating and Electrical for many years. He was very active in his community and served as a fire fighter for 15 years, a member of St. Vincent de Paul and former Councillor for the Town of Hanover. Francis was presently the school trustee for the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board and a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights Of Columbus.

Survived by loving wife Marlene (nee Hughes) Gross of Hanover, sons Francis Joseph Gross of Sydney Australia and T. Murray (Suzanne) Gross of Ottawa, daughter Barbara (Paul) Deeves of Leamington, grandchildren Tommy Lee (Diane Findlay) and Kathryn (Nick) St. Pierre and Christopher (Theresa) Deeves and six greatgrandchildren. Also survived by his sister Joan (Stanley) Purves of Hanover. Predeceased by his brother Jerome Gross.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with Vigil Rites at 2:15 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:30 am, at Holy Family Church (352 10th Avenue, Hanover). Father Gary Schlack officiating. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
