Avis de décès de Aurele Groleau check_circle

Ivan was born in Rouyn, Quebec. He was the son of Wilfrid and Anne Marie Groleau. Brother to Norman (the late Joyce), the late Denise (Paul) Osborne, Gerald (Cindy) and Roland. Married to his beloved wife Esther Marie (Schuller) for 51 years. Loving father to Shane (Klaudia) and Scott (Anna) Groleau. Grandfather to William, Jonathan, Conrad, Blade (Sharon), Kyle and Brandon. Great-grandpa to our precious little Kyle Crawford.
Ivan spent 5 years in the RCAF where he became a licenced mechanic. He was a great entrepreneur. His understanding of business expanded his opportunities from being a mechanic to the creator and owner of the first Mr. Stereo car audio chain store. Being a true professional he moved into sales management where he developed lifelong relationships with many people. He even took his hand at establishing a number of dollar stores throughout the Kitchener Waterloo region. Due to illness he retired early but took on the project of building the family home in West Montrose with his brother Gerald. He never gave up on life despite his many health problems and always had a constant sense of humour. The grandkids said if he didn’t call you a funny name, something was wrong. He loved people, often demonstrating this through generosity with his family and friends He enjoyed working on the house, muscle cars, entertaining, fishing, playing cards, chess and darts. He especially enjoyed movies and built up a fantastic collection of Dept. 56 miniature houses which he proudly displayed in the family recreation room. He was a member of the Canadian Legion in New Hamburg where he resided for the past 5 years. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church faithfully. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Warren Hamp for his constant visits, prayers and friendship, Dennis and Lynn Noonan for taking Ivan to Mass every Saturday night, Holy Family Parish for their visits and love, the CCAC and the wonderful staff at Forest Heights LTC. Ivan’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. Parish prayers will be offered at 4 pm on Tuesday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at St. Mark’s Catholic Parish, 55 Driftwood Drive, Kitchener. Fr. Don Sanvido officiating. After the reception in the church hall the interment will take place at West Montrose Cemetery with Fr. Steve Murrin.
