Passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Lanark Place Retirement Home at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Helen Meyer for 70 years. Loving father to Murray and his wife Ede of Hanover, Donald and his wife Sharron of Atwood, Janet St. Cyr and her husband Bob of Waterloo and Kathy Hundt of Stratford. Cherished grandfather to Cory, Cara, Toby, Holly, Lee Ann, Christian, Julie, Andrew and lovingly remembered by many great grandchildren.

Walter was born in Mildmay and is the son of the late William and Mary Hundt and is predeceased by siblings, Leo, Bernard, Norman, Jerome, Melinda Kubisewsky and Loretta Hergott.

Walter was a member of St. Joseph’s RC Church, a former member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and was a retired employee with 38 years of service at Canadian Blower and Forge / Canada Pumps. He served with Royal Canadian Regiment serving overseas during World War II.

Walter’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2 – 4 p.m. only on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers will be recited on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 10:20 a.m. at the funeral home with procession to St. Joseph’s RC Church (148 Madison Avenue South, Kitchener) for the Celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery will be followed by a reception at the funeral home.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society – St. Joseph’s Church (Kitchener) or St. Joseph’s RC Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
