Bert in his 99th year was peacefully ushered into the presence of Jesus his Saviour late Thursday evening August 18, 2016. Born in London Township on August 9, 1918, son of Douglas and Mabel (Fenwick) Ellis. Predeceased by brothers Nelson, Walter, and sister Orma. Also predeceased by wife Maxine (Jewell) (2005), son Douglas (2012) and son in-law Douglas LeCouteur (1981). Survived by daughter in-law Heather Ellis, daughter Mary LeCouteur, son and daughter in-law Bill and Lucy Ellis. Granddaughters Naomi (Greg) McCulloch, Sarah (Cameron) Griffin, Jaclyn Ellis and great grandsons Tavis McCulloch and Noah Griffin, Sister in law Mary Jewell. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and family. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff on 5 West at Dearness Home for their wonderful, diligent care. Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1997 Dundas St. E. (at Wavell) on Sunday August 21, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to follow Tuesday August 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
