MacMILLAN, Helen (nee Kasarda) – May 28th 1931 to March 24th 2017. It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Helen MacMillan, in her 86th year. She passed away peacefully at her home in Ilderton on Friday evening, March 24th 2017, with loving family by her side. A loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother – who always had a strong commitment to her family whom she was most proud of and whom she loved dearly. Helen was adored by all her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her strength, courage and enjoyment of life. Beloved Wife of the late Donald Murray MacMillan. Dear Mother of Lynda (the late Richard Maaten) of London, John MacMillan (Carol) of Barrie, Lisa (Bill Tichenoff) of Ilderton and the late Kenneth R. MacMillan. Loving Grandmother of Jenna Talosi (Michael), Ian Maaten (Melanie), Stephanie MacMillan-Doupe (Kelly), Courtney Mugford (Cameron), Emily Tichenoff (fiancé Tim Shigapov), Annalise Tichenoff (fiancé Jonathan Sanderson), Alexander Tichenoff and Ethan Tichenoff. Cherished Great Grandmother of Hazel, Jason, Cora, Evelyn, Benjamin, Nathaniel and Adam. Dear sister of Joanne Vickerman, the late John Kasarda and Lily Risoen. Sister-in-law of Florence Kasarda. She will be dearly missed by us all – We love you Grams!
The funeral service will be held at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, on Wednesday, March 29 at 2 pm, with visitation preceding from 1-2 pm. Cremation followed by interment at a later date in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Leamington, Ontario. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Easter Seals charity.
