WALSH, Helen Meridel – Peacefully at University Hospital on Friday November 23, 2018, Helen Meridel Walsh, nee Wilson, in her 89th year. Beloved wife for 61 years of the late John Walsh (2017). Loving mother of Mary Helen, John (Mary), David and the late Matthew (2004). Dear grandmother of Jennifer (Bill Hewerdine), Stephanie Partridge, Austin Partridge, Brian Partridge (Shannon), Rhonda, Justine, John, Michael and proud great-grandmother of Matthew, Danielle and Bradley Hewerdine. Sister of Charles Wilson (the late Lois) and the late Mary Loscombe (Frank).
Helen was raised on a farm near Ingersoll. She moved to London in the 1950’s. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved playing cards with her friends and enjoyed reading and quilting. Former Huron Country Playhouse Guild member and long-standing member of the Church of the Transfiguration. Former Cub leader and community volunteer.
Visitation on Monday from 7-9 pm at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, where the memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 27 at 1 pm. Memorial contributions to Lupus Ontario or Faculty of Education at Western would be appreciated.
