It is with great sorrow that our family announces the death of our dearest Vic, who passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the age of 73. He was a kind and thoughtful person, who loved to laugh, had a big heart, endless energy, had a passion for giving and for life. He was an outstanding lab technician for the Ontario Ministry of Health for 35 years, a former hard-working Nepean Minor Hockey Coach, a dedicated marathon runner, a proud member of The Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight and an avid fundraiser for the Ottawa Heart Institute. Vic found joy in travelling to Cuba, working in his garden, listening to his music, biking, kayaking, doing his work-outs, with all things Elvis, his beloved cats, his weekly outings with his best friends to Tim Horton’s and most importantly his family. He leaves behind his most precious loving wife and friend of 39 years Nancy (Gunn). Vic was the much loved father, fan and best friend of his children Tanya (Andrew), Emily and Jesse. He will be deeply missed by his adoring grandchildren Benjamin, Emma and Kaelis who will always remember their “Pa.” Predeceased by his parents Dora and Denis; brother Fred (Mary) and sister Barbara. Deeply missed by his loving mother-in-law Theresa (the late John Gunn) and brothers- and sisters-in-law Judy (Dave), Colleen (David), Linda (Mike), Tim and Donna (Gino). He is also leaving behind many loving nieces and nephews. The family gratefully acknowledges the excellent care, kindness and compassion of the paramedics and of the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. There will be no visitation.
