Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at GNGH at the age of 77 on Thursday September 17, 2015. Born on April 19, 1938 in St. Catharines, Valarie was the daughter of the late Harold Greensides and is survived by her mother Hilda Greensides. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband James Yeates, children Leanne Yeates and Brett Yeates (Leigh Cormier) as well as her only grandchild Addie Campbell, and sister Harolyn Sire. Valerie joins her brothers Jim Greensides and Tom Greensides in peace. Valarie was respected and loved by the many people whose lives she touched as a nurse, volunteer, friend and family member. Hers was a life well lived, full of compassion for all, and we her family, are deeply grateful for her presence. A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday September 22nd at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St., Niagara Falls. Visitation begins at 11am with service at 12pm and reception to follow. Interment will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Valarie’s wish was that memorial gifts would be made in her honour to Christ Church in Niagara Falls or The Hamilton General Hospital Foundation.
