FORTIN, Louis “Gene” – Passed away suddenly at Hamilton General Hospital on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the age of 64. Beloved husband of 15 years to Larisa. Dearly loved father of Ashton (Roger) Fortin Higgins, Tim (Olga) Makachev and Marat (Maria) Makachev. Dear son-in-law of Pauline Lyashko. Dear brother of Richard (Shirley) Fortin, Paul Fortin, Simon (Joy) Fortin and Judith Fortin (Andrew Richardson) and brother-in-law of Margaret Batyakina. Loving uncle to Kimberly, Kelly, Megan, Daniel, Krystal, Bianca, Stephen, Michael and Shawn. Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Annette Fortin. Gene had worked for Walker Industries for over 35 years where he leaves behind many good friends to cherish his memory. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME , 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls visiting Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Antoine de Padoue Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Gene donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or Heart Niagara would be appreciated by his family.
