What a ride. So many things have made me who I am. I led an active life playing hockey, baseball, curling and golf (just to name a few). I made so many incredible friends through my teams: Junior Blades, Silver Bullets, Abbey Oaks Baseball,The Trillium Miata Club and the Oakville Curling Club where I was fortunate enough to meet my best friend and love of my life Sharon Burton. Adventures around the world were a big part of my life and allowed me to golf at numerous courses. I also enjoyed coaching Little League sports. Music was an integral part of my life; playing different venues with my bands, the J-birds,Night Shift with my late wife Donna and my brother-in-law Ian & Brian Piers. There were also many nights singing at a Karaoke bar; probably most notable was Sunny and Sharon – I Got You Babe. But THE most important aspect of my life was my family. My daughters Linda Clark (Adam), Danielle Burton (Chris) and Jodi Benkovic (Jim). My brother Jim Court (Nilza, Jennifer, Brittany). My little sister Cathy Collier (Ian, Christie [Ryan & Jules], Michael [Stephanie & Dash] & Nikki). My late parents, Ed and Lorraine Court. My best friends, Frank and Wanda Titterson & Marinette Murphy. My extended family from England. And my son Jason Court (Sandi, Tyler & Owen). Who is lucky enough to celebrate the end of their life with a 5 day party with all of their closest family and friends surrounding them; it was such a happy ending!!!
Family and friends will be received at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, ON on Monday May 15, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 11 am in the Oakview Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, donations to have a bench placed in Bronte Harbour in Rick’s honour would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at oakviewfuneral.ca.
