Peacefully in hospital surrounded by family in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the age of 65. Daughter of the late Eunice Mary (née Shane) and the late Arthur Euclide Brasseur. Loving wife of the late David Michael Shields, and proud, devoted mother of James and Laura. Dedicated sister to her six brothers, the late Ranald (the late Diane Maisonneuve), Anthony, Paul (Sylvie Labelle), Roger (Eileen Johnson), Louis (Claudette Gosselin) and Gilles (Jacqueline Heard), and her only sister, Marie (Matthew Nicol), with whom she maintained a special bond. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, and a very wide circle of friends from all walks of life. She will also be fondly remembered by her many colleagues and students from her long career as a teacher at Philemon Wright High School, Hull, Quebec. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor), on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. followed by a reception. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Wheatley-Price and Chris MacEachern of the Ottawa Hospital, and Dr. Treena Greene of the Bruyère Family Medicine Centre.
