Rita crossed the Atlantic on her own with 6 small children to be with the love of her life, who waited for her to begin a journey of many years together. Rita cooked so many of her favourite dishes with tireless joy and treasured the feeling of comfort that a house full of laughter and company brought. Her greatest delight was her large family and she lived her life for those she loved. We are grateful for her special love, kindness, and the influence she had on all of our lives. Rita volunteered at the Port Colborne Museum and was a participating member of the CWL of St. Patrick’s Church. She took an active part in many activities at Gilead Manor where she lived for many years. For the past 3 years she resided at Portal Village where she received excellent care from the wonderful staff who took time to look after her needs. Special thanks go to the very caring, understanding staff of the 4th floor at Welland Hospital and 2nd floor at Port Colborne Hospital! You are amazing people and we thank you for everything you have done for Rita.
