Peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at L.H.S.C. à University Campus Bertilia (Betty Cortez (nee Morgado) passed away at the age of 69. Loving and devoted wife of Jose Cortez. Beloved mother of the late Fatima Cortez (2010), Gerry Cortez and Perry (Stephanie) Cortez. Cherished grandmother of Kegan, Kylar, Ashley, Austin, Ryan and Devin. Predeceased by her parents Jose and Maria Morgado. Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 23, 2013 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedicts Catholic Church 1011 Oak Ave. Sarnia. The interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Diabetes Association or Bluewater Health à Dialysis Unit (cheques only at the funeral home please).
