At Bluewater Health on Thursday, September 19, 2013, with his wife by his side, Mac Johnston Evans of Sarnia, formerly of Point Edward, passed away at the age of 85.
Beloved husband of Jean (Downie) Evans for 61 years. Dear brother-in-law of George Downie of Sarnia and Louise Downie of Auburn, Mass. Lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Grant (1987) and Iva (Johnston 1990) Evans and by his brother Bill Evans (1950).
Mac worked at Polysar for 38 years, retiring in 1983. He served on the Point Edward Utilities Commission for 16 years and was a member of the Instrument Society of America during his working years. Mac enjoyed woodworking and woodcraft in his spare time.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to an Open House to celebrate Mac’s life at the SMITH FAMILY CENTRE (in front of Smith Funeral Home), 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A private family interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
