Ralph passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the age of 76. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a friend to all and was the go to guy when anything needed done. Ralph was born in Belgium and moved to Canada in 1955. He worked at Canadian Tire for 37 years and retired 12 years ago. He loved his gardening and enjoyed being outside, golfing and morning coffee breaks at Tim Horton’s with his friends. We would like to extend a special thanks to Randy from Bayshore, the nurses from V.O.N., Dr. Maddison and neighbor Jason who took over the yard work when Ralph became ill. Beloved husband of Mary (Callaghan) Detailleur. Loving father of Jacqueline Detailleur of Sarnia, Mark (Melva) Detailleur of Chatham, Greg (Kris) Detailleur of St. Paul, MN and Michelle (Dan) Bezaire of Windsor. Cherished grandfather of Joelle Brown-Detailleur, Austin, Noah and Alyah Detailleur, Tara and Caitlin Detailleur, Mya and Jonas Bezaire and great-grandfather of Xavier Baker. Dear brother of Denise (Ted) Jans of Watford, ON. He is the beloved brother-in-law and uncle of the Callaghan and Detailleur families. Predeceased by his parents Michele and Magdelene Detailleur, his brother Gerard and his niece Jessica. Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia with prayers being offered at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Benedicts Catholic Church, 1011 Oak Ave., Sarnia, with interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wyoming. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Benedicts Church or The Gene Goodreau Patient Assistance Fund à LHSC Foundation, 747 Baseline Rd. S.
