OBITUARY
Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Monday, December 10, 2018, Robert (Roy) Bennett passed away at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Hazel Bennett. Loving father of Debbie (Bill) Nutson, Stephen Bennett and Mark Bennett. Cherished grandfather of Jonathan Nutson, Emily Nutson and Evie Bennett. Dear brother of James (Eileen) Bennett and brother-in-law of Marlene (Bill) Joy and Ronnie (Margaret) Kelly. Remembered by family in Northern Ireland and England. Predeceased by his parents James and Margaret Bennett, parents-in-law Ernest and Evelyn Kelly, and siblings John (Molly) Bennett, Billy (Jean) Bennett, and Margaret (Ernest) Hill. Roy was an avid golfer and sports fan and member of LARGA and Bluewater Optimist Club. He was gainfully employed in the insurance business in Sarnia-Lambton for many years. Roy will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Lilly and Dr. Maddison as well as the staff of Bayshore and St. Joseph’s Hospice for their special care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 261 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church or St. Joseph’s Hospice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
