Peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Fiddick’s Nursing Home, Petrolia, Stanley Arthur Farrow passed away at the age of 89. Stan is survived by his wife Dorothy (King) Farrow; his beloved daughters Shirley (Lyle) Leckie of Alberta, and Sherry (Eric) Nixon of Forest; his grandchildren Lindsay (Cameron) Morrison, Steven (Erin) Leckie, Scott Leckie, Andrew Nixon, Briana Nixon (Brett) and Rebecca (Graham) Park; and his great- grandchildren Jaden and Danica Leckie and Hayden Park. Also survived by his siblings Margaret (the late Stan) Langthorne of Nova Scotia and Leonard (Ronda) Farrow of Saskatchewan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Arthur (1988) and Dorothy (Dolly) (1974). Stan worked as a Stationary Engineer in the Chemical Valley, ending at Sun Oil. He also owned and operated his business installing Jacuzzi pumps and water lines. Nothing was a challenge for Stan, and he never said no to anyone. He was very active in the community, a member of Moore Line United Church, the Oil Springs United Church, Outreach Monday Afternoon of Cards and Fellowship, the Oil Springs 58ers Euchre Club, and the Imperial Hunt and Fishing Club. Stan’s passion was curling, and he was a member of the Briarwood Curling Club and the Heritage Curling Club. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Smith Funeral Home, with family and friends being received one hour prior to service. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Association (cheques only at the funeral home please).
