At St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton on September 2, 2016, Joseph Ross Dougherty of Simcoe in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Joyce Marilyn (nee Boughner) for 53 years. Dear father of Catherine Ann Dougherty and Joseph Scott Dougherty (Audrey Davis). Cherished grandfather of Connor and Alexander. He is also survived by his sisters Marilyn Sheppard and Arlene Wright of Sarnia. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Annie Dougherty and his sister Shirley. Ross was a teacher and Principal at the Norfolk board of Education from 1960 until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Simcoe Lions Club since 1976 and was a former member of the Norfolk golf and Country Club. Friends are invited to call at THE FERRIS FUNERAL HOME, 214 Norfolk St., S., Simcoe on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Service will be held at ST. PAUL’S PRESBYTERIAN Church, Lot St., Simcoe on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Mikal Schomberg officiating followed by cremation. Lions Club Memorial Service Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Memorial donations to the D.C. MacDonald Scholarship of St. Paul’s Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
