Lawrence Gilbert Cyr moved on peacefully from this world on April 29th in his 63rd year, surrounded by those he dearly loved, his wife Mary Ellen of 42 years, and friend for 50 years. His daughters Ramee (Brandon) and Mackenzie Grincevicius (Nathan), whom he adored, and proud Grandad to Aidan, Jacob, and Alexandra. He is reunited with his parents, Gilbert and Carol. He was a loving big brother to Stephen (Wendy), David (Cindy), Michael (Rachel), and Michelle Weales (Randy) as well as loved brother-in-law to Maureen Saxby (Tom), Clancy Barrett (Paula), John Barrett, and Gloria Wasylkowski (Myles). Originally from Oshawa, Larry relocated to Simcoe later in life and developed many fast and lasting relationships within the community, both through his volunteer work at the Literacy Council and passion for fitness at Top Bodies and Simcoe Health & Fitness. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Larry’s Life on Wednesday, May 3rd at the Simcoe Rec Centre. -Service at 2pm (Cremation has taken place) -Reception following, with great food and music as Larry loved -Visitation with the Family until 8pm.Donations to Ronald McDonald House would be gratefully appreciated by the family. A donation box will be available. Despite the odds his body stacked against him, Larry fought fiercely to face each day with strength, determination and a zest for life.
