DAVIDSON, A. Paul (1948-2016) à surrounded by his loving family, at his home on Saturday, May 14th, 2016 in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Cathy Davidson (nee Magill) of Simcoe. Cherished father and grandfather of Carrie Lingard (Jason) of Simcoe, their children Zachary & Paige; and Erin Ridpath (Mark) of Ancaster, their children Eden & Lincoln. Loving brother of Dawn Robertson (Gary) of Strathroy and Joan Oster (Armin) of Midland & admired uncle to their families. Lovingly remembered by Cathy’s siblings, Diane Vrooman (Mike) of Simcoe, Robin Magill (Glenys) of Hamilton and David Magill (Gay) of New Jersey, and their families. Paul will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews & extended family. Predeceased by his parents, the late Ottis & Marie Davidson. Born in Hamilton, Paul spent his childhood in Kingston, but always considered Simcoe his home where he touched the lives of many with his kind heart & warm hugs. He loved all sports and played and coached most of them. Paul spent his entire teaching career at Delhi Public School, lovingly remembered as (Mr. D.) He had a remarkable memory and a passion for history. Paul enjoyed peaceful moments on the lake with Pacey, his faithful companion, waiting for fish that rarely came. Above all he loved his family and cherished every moment with them. Friends are invited to share their memories of Paul with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 for visitation from 7-9 p.m. and again on Thursday, May 19th, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Paul’s memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Elaine Poproski officiating.
