It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tonina Adamo, in her 77th year, on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital with family and friends by her side. Beloved wife of Mario and cherished mother of Adele. She was born in Figline, Italy where she was predeceased by parents Giacomo and Maria Fava and in-laws Fedele and Maria Adamo. Tonina was the youngest of six siblings. She is survived by brother Franco (Ilda) of Sudbury. Predeceased by sisters Elena and Rita (Francesco) of Italy and brothers Giuseppe and Aldo of Sudbury. Survived by sisters-in-law Gina and Virginia Fava and Luisa Adamo and Roberto Adamo (Romilda) in Canada and Aurora Adamo and Tonina Adamo in Italy. On the Adamo side, predeceased by Carolina (Salvatore), Pasquale (Esterina), Ida (Eugenio), Amelia (Ernesto), Arnaldo, Luigi, Adolfo, Elena (Giuseppe), Giuseppe, and Nello. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. Tonina was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She was happiest when entertaining friends and family. She endured much ill health throughout her life. It was her indomitable spirit and love of life that enabled her to conquer many challenges. A special thank you to Dr. Sharon Grad and her team, Dr. Michael Savatteri, Celeste Campbell, and Trish Kraft for the care and kindness shown to Tonina. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil at 3:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of our Blessed Lord Roman Catholic Church (corner of Nash Road and Barton Street) on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 9:00 am. Entombment Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery .
