Peacefully at home on Thursday August 1, 2013 . Mary Elizabeth Crowley (Goudie) (nee Long) of Strathroy in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Dr. Patrick C. Crowley and of the late David Goudie (1973). Loving mother to Patrick J. Crowley (2012) and Deb of Tobermory, Paul Crowley of Strathroy, Ruth McLeod and Michael Bannon of Strathroy, Cathy McGuinness of Vancouver, Carol and Ed Ogle of Strathroy, Michael and Susan Crowley of London, David Crowley and Nancy Gee of London, Cherished grandmother of Jacquie and Jamie Crowley, Megan (Nigel Turner), Tara and Alex McLeod, Sam and Jack McGuinness, David and Emily Ogle, Michael, Connor, Angela, and Madeline Crowley, Diana, Bridgette and Georgia Crowley. Mary is survived by her brothers John and Edward Long, as well as brothers in law Jim Paterson and Dr. Frank Walker and sisters in law Donna Crowley and Regina Maloney along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her infant son John Goudie and her parents Herbert and Emma Long, brother William Long , sister Donna Paterson and sisters in law June Long, Lianne Long, Kate Walker, and Marg Tucker. Mary was educated at Bishop Strachan School (BSS) in Toronto and graduated as an RN from Sick Children’s Hospital. Mary was a Brownie Leader and belonged to the SMGH Auxiliary, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was the owner of Goudies Furniture in Strathroy for many years. She was an avid curler, golfer, volunteer, bridge player and loved children and gardening. Visitation for friends and family will be held at DENNING BROS. FUNERAL HOME, STRATHROY on Monday August 5 , 2013 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm . Funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 6 at 11:00 am from ST. ANDREWS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, STRATHROY with Rev. Steve Boose officiating . Cremation to follow with burial in family plot at a later time. Donations in memory of Mary to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or the Strathroy Library would be appreciated by the family.
