In loving memory of John Gies who passed away Thursday, January 5th, 2017 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Cecile (Jolly) Gies of Sudbury. Loving father of Jamie (Helen) of Whitby and John Jr. (Angella) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Brent (Laci) of Sudbury, Katie (Nathan) of Whitby, Warren (Valerie) of Ottawa, and Falon and Sasha both of Sudbury and great grandfather of Devon, Sophie, Aeva, Hayden and Cloe. Predeceased by his parents Leo and Lillian Gies. Dear brother of Leo predeceased (Fran of Elliot Lake), Bill predeceased (Jackie predeceased), Larry predeceased, Jim (Diane) of Sudbury, Barbara Levesque (Ray) of Sudbury, Sally Beute (Harry predeceased) of Balderson, Emma Goedhuis (Dan predeceased) of Sudbury, Deanna predeceased, Linda Ouellette (Claude) of Sudbury and Noella Latimer of Sudbury. Sadly missed by his in-laws Morris Jolly (Lourdes) of Sudbury, Jean Steeves (Lloyd) of Manitoulin Island, and Jerry Jolly (Sharin) of Trail, B.C. Special thanks to the Maison McCulloch Hospice for the excellent care and compassion while John was there.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street, Sudbury on Saturday, January 14th, 2017 where friends may call from 12-3pm. If desired, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
