Passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the age of 92. Loving wife of Robert for 68 years. Cherished mother of Yvette (George) Henkel and Philippe (Marie) Proulx. Devoted grandmother of Colleen White, Bill Ryan, Nicole Proulx (Dave) and Robert Proulx. Great-grandmother of Breanna, Evan and Jessica. Step-grandmother of 3 and step-great-grandmother of 10. Predeceased by her brothers Paul, Roland and Marcel. Sister-in-law of Marcella, Jeanne and the late Dorothy Proulx. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Irene was a member of the CWL for many years. She was an avid seamstress, gardener and artist. A special thank you to the staff of Riverside Place and Oak Park Terrace for their compassionate and loving care.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Marcotte Funeral Home , 12105 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-735-2830 from 6 – 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. Visiting will continue on Monday, June 6, 2016 at St. John Vianney Parish from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. William’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Parkinson Society or St. John Vianney Parish.
