Graham, Ellen Christabel (Born – Athlone Co. Westmeath Ireland December 17, 1917 à Died Toronto, Ontario Canada April 2, 2016) Passed away Peacefully in her 98th year with her daughter by her side and in the kind care of the staff at Vermont Square Long Term Facility in Toronto. Pre-deceased by husband Dermot and son Julian. Survived by daughter Irene, sons Peter (Joan) and Adrian (Lindy), grandchildren Matthew, Jason, Sarah, and Shannon. As grandson Matthew said, (If she died at 50, she’d still have had a full life). Born on December 17th, 1917, she survived WW1, Spanish Influenza, The Great Depression, The Dirty Thirties and WW2. In her 40’s she came to Canada with her family and proceeded to carve out a life for herself. She loved Canada and considered it a privilege to live here. She was a force of nature. Only death could stop her. Memorial visitation will be held at the Cardinal Funeral Home à 366 Bathurst St. (just north of Dundas) on Wednesday, April 6th from 4-9 p.m. According to Ellen’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Vermont Square Long Term Care Facility (914 Bathurst St., Toronto M5R 3G5) would be appreciated.
