Died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday November 24, 2016 shortly after his 69th birthday. Michael of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Michelle (nee Warner). Loving father of Tara (Michael Saunders), Kyle Smyth (Lori), Matthew, Patrick (Andrea) and Daniel. Devoted grandfather of Nathan, Desmond, Conner and Liam. Survived by his siblings Margaret, James and Thomas. Michael devoted over 36 years to Toronto Police Service. Thank you to the compassionate nursing staff of the 2nd Floor Collingwood General & Marine Hospital à Kim, Margaret and Kate. Dr. Jamie Stewart’s care for Michael and his family during his illness has been nothing short of remarkable. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home à Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach, on Tuesday November 29, 2016 from 12 noon for the Memorial Service at 1 o’clock, followed by a reception.
