Marion, in her 96th year, with her loving daughters by her side, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. The world has lost a very special lady whose sparkling blue eyes, beautiful smile and generous spirit captured the hearts of all who knew her. Predeceased by her loving husband and best friend Frederick Gaylard. Much loved and adored mother of Shelley and Marnie. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Annie Campbell and sister Norma Torrance. Aunt, cousin and friend to many who will greatly miss her. Marion was a graduate R.N. of Hamilton General Hospital class of 1940A. She was a dedicated nurse both at the Hamilton General Hospital and McGregor Clinic, Hamilton. She was a member of the choir at West Plains United Church for 45 years and a charter member of West Plains U.C.W. Many will remember her husband Frederick Gaylard, former Inspector with Halton Regional Police Service. The Gaylard family would like to extend our thanks to all the doctors, nurses and support staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital 7 Flex, and 5th Floor Complex Care Unit, who cared for our mother. Sincere thanks to Dr. Mark Grafham, our family physician for all his support and wonderful care. Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at WEST PLAINS UNITED CHURCH, 549 Plains Rd. W., Burlington on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment following at Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Plains United Church Lights Fund or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
