Peacefully, after a long & courageous battle with ALS , surrounded with love, she gently passed in the arms of her loving daughter, caregiver and best friend on August 16, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Reunited with her beloved husband Nikolaos ( 2003 ). Devoted and loving mom to Kathy ( John ) Yiannou, Sam ( Michelle ) and Mike (Angela). Adoring yiayia of Eleni ( Adam ) Campeau, Peter ( Andrea ) Yiannou, Nicholas, Victoria, Nicholas , Kristi and soon to be great yiayia to Baby Yiannou. Dear sister of George Stratis ( Gregoira ) and predeceased by Alex, Maria and Primi. She will be sadly missed by extended family in Canada, United States and Greece. Tsambika and her husband emigrated from Greece to provide a better life for their growing family, and devoted their time and faith to the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church where she was one of the founding members. We are so grateful to have had her in our lives; her journey with ALS has now ended and she is finally at peace. A special thank you to her caregivers at Aspen Lake (Sandwich Town) . Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME ( Banwell Chapel ) ( 519-253-7234) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E. on Tuesday August 18, 2015 from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM. Thrice Holy Hymn Service Tuesday at 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are welcome to gather at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church ( 65 Ellis St. E. ) on Wednesday August 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM for the Second Thrice Holy Service followed by the funeral service with Rev. Fr. Stavros Chatzis officiating. Interment Windsor Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please help find a cure to ALS Society by making a donation in Tsambika’s memory (envelopes available at the funeral home).
