Peacefully at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke, Ontario on Friday, March 31, 2017 in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Carroll (2000). Dear mother of Jane, Andrew (Cecilia Burlage), Patricia (Francis Marcotte) and Catherine. Loving grandfather of Andrew, Katie and Blake Baxter. Predeceased by her parents James Gibbon and Julia Tackney. Mary was the last survivor of her siblings; Philip (Margaret), Arnie (Gertie), Alex, Monica (Stephen Howard), Odile (Patrick Fitzpatrick), Rita (Archie McWade). Survived by her sister-in-law Eileen Gibbon (Alex), several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Friends may call at the Hayes Funeral Home, 56 rue St. Jacques, Chapeau, Quebec on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in St. Alphonsus Church, Chapeau , Quebec at 11 a.m. Interment parish cemetery. Donations to St. Alphonsus Restoration Fund, Meilleur Residence or the charity of choice would be appreciated. Special thanks to Miramichi (2A Wing) for their kindness and special care during mom’s short stay there.
