It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian J. Flynn, Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. Clare’s hospital.
“B.J.” was born 11 February, 1944 in St. John’s NL and spent his childhood and most of his adult life on Pleasant Street. Brian had many passions in life. Proud to be a land surveyor, he founded and instituted B.J. Flynn Land Surveys. He was best known as a Johnny Cash enthusiast, Flynn family historian and tour guide for any visitors that graced his doorstep at 12 Reid Street.
Leaving to mourn is his beloved family – wife Florence, daughters Sheila and Brenda (Joe), son Brian (Jennifer); Grandchildren Brian Nicholas, Julia, Ashley, Erin and Ian; brother Neil (Alice) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sgt. Thomas Flynn and wife Joan and eldest brother Thomas Edward.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hickey and the amazing staff at the ICU in St. Clare’s for their never ending compassion and care of Brian.
Visitation to take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd Wednesday, June 28, 2017 10 am à 9 pm and Thursday June 29, 2017 10 am – 12 pm. Funeral is to be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Friday June 30, 2017 at 9:30 am. Interment to be held at Belvedere Cemetery.
